  • A Love Letter To Italy

Disclaimer: I’m throwing my heart out there. It is a scary thing to do, but hopefully Italy will reciprocate its love.

    Dear Italy,

I apologize from the deepest depths of my soul that I had to leave you. I know that our fling only lasted about a week, but please know that it was one of the best weeks of my life. It’s not you; it’s me. (more…)

  • Bonjour Paris!

We arrived in Paris at 9:36am yesterday (Thursday) after a hot cramped night on the train. Our hostel, St. Christopher’s, is amazing. It is brand new, has an attached bar and restaurant, and the rooms and beds are comfortable and spacious. Here’s a peek at our room:

  • Tour Eiffel

I loved the Eiffel Tower. I am so glad that Tammy and I took the advice to see it before dusk and at night. The Eiffel looks so sparkly when it is all lit up. Unfortunately one of the lifts to the top was down, so only one was available. We stood in line for a solid 2 hours to get tickets.

  • Les Poisson

    DAD!-

I witnessed this moment on my way to purchase a baguette (which you’d also be obsessed with) and thought of you.

A man pulled out a GIANT fish (with the help of a bystander) from the canal next t our hostel. It was like Deadliest Catch.

It also reminded me of this classic song which I keep on singing (sorry, Tammy).

  • Notre Dame

Notre Dame was beautiful. I’ve only ever seen what it looked like on the outside, never the inside. So when I walked in, I was stunned by the intricate design and vibrant colors of the stained glass.

Notre Dame is soon to celebrate its 850th birthday. The church is still active and a great display of gothic architecture. It is very famous from Victor Hugo’s Hunchback novel.

As with every church I’ve been in so far, I lit a candle for my family and friends. Know that I’m thinking of everyone while overseas!! xoxox

  • The Overnight Train

We almost missed our overnight train to Paris. Over something stupid. We RAN to board our train. Like, induced an asthma attack. But we made it, didn’t have sheets, and listened to the Asians speak Chinese for an hour, but slept like rocks. Whew. What an experience.

  • Under the Tuscan Sun in Firenze – Day 2

This (yesterday, wednesday) was our museum and sightseeing day. We began by visiting Florence’s most famous bridge, Ponte Vecchio Nearby was the Uffizi Museum. Getting tickets was bit of a hassle… First we stood in the ‘reservations’ line thinking we could reserve our tickets. No, that line was for those who already made online reservations. We found the right line to get tickets, but I would be at least an hour long wait just to get them. And then once we obtained our tickets we would need to wait in another line to go through security and get entrance inside. For an extra €6, we joined some ‘friends of Firenze art preservation’ association. So not only can we add this excellent organization to our resumes, we were able to skip the ticket lines and go straight to the entrance line. Three cheers for art preservation!!!
