The Red Light District of Paris

On Friday our hostel (in collaboration with other hostels as well) organized a bar crawl to show us foreigners the night life of Paris. Since Tammy and I hadn’t experienced the Paris night life yet since the evening before we were playing at the Eiffel Tower, we decided it would be a good opportunity to go out. PLUS they were meeting near Moulin Rouge which was already on our checklist of places to see.

This is also where we met up with Justine. Justine is one of my sorority sisters from Kappa Delta. She was a study abroad student at Wayne State, joined our sisterhood, and now a year after she returned home to France she trained out to Paris to see me. How lucky am I to have a friend like that!

It was a lot of fun. Us girls mostly stuck with each other; I didn’t meet too many other people. Nothing seemed distinctly “Parisian” about the places we went to – not like when we were in Ireland we heard live traditional Irish music. These places could have easily been in the US… Besides the fact that they were in the red light district, which is a whole experience in itself. Can’t say I’ve frequented any places like that in the US!!
