On Saturday morning we visited the Arc de Triomphe , which is one of Paris’s most iconic monuments. It is a war memorial as well as the tomb of the unknown soldier.
Once again, this was an enormous structure. It was overpowering. The Arc is located in the middle of a round about. There are at least 6 lanes of traffic circling around it. Tammy and I were completely perplexed as to how in the world we were going to cross all these cars and buses with no sidewalks… And live to tell the tale.
There were a few moments when we seriously considered darting… It would have been like a real game of Frogger. We decided to walk around it for a bit and weigh our options, and thats when we saw it:
The underground tunnel that safely led people to the Arc. So future reference to any future Paris travelers… Don’t run in the street!!
After paying our respects at the Arc, we tunneled over to Champs-Élysées . This is probably the most famous and beautiful streets in Paris and is known for its shopping! Tammy and I did decide to make a purchase, at a store that would put Victoria’s Secret to shame. Oh la la!!
