Detroit Restaurant Week

Detroit Restaurant Week may be my new favorite event in Detroit. As a girl with a huge appetite and a shameless love for food, $28 for a delicious three-course meal at some of Detroit’s finest restaurants is a brilliant way to spend my time and money.

First, a gathering of my best girlfriends at Coach Insignia.

First DRW Stop: Coach Insignia, with a view of Detroit and Canada, 72 floors up in the Renaissance Center.
Coach Insignia Course 1: Tomato-Basil Bisque served with petite grilled cheese
Coach Insignia Course 2
Coach Insignia Course 2: Pan-seared Atlantic Salmon served with asparagus tips, trumpet mushrooms, roasted red pepper coulis and cilantro purée
Coach Insignia Course 3: "The Present" – a raspberry chocolate mouse on chocolate cake wrapped in a hard chocolate cover

Next, a random mix of friends celebrating the end of finals at Cuisine, a restaurant in the New Center area of Detroit.

Second DRW Stop: Cuisine – delicious "French" fine dining
Cuisine Course 1: Smoked Salmon served with a spring salad and poached quail egg
Cuisine Course 2: Brioche-breaded Skatefish served with blood orange butter sauce and English peas
German Chocolate Cake served with coconut ice cream
